Have a true story I recently heard that I’d pass along to you along with your daily minute that will help make this holiday season more enjoyable and rewarding than ever.
It went like this.
A famous pianist in the middle of an epic performance suddenly became ill and had to be carried from the concert stage while playing an extremely difficult part in this piece. As the scene backstage became one of mass confusion, members of the audience murmured in both consternation and concern. Then to their amazement, a man suddenly rose from his seat, walked onto the stage, sat down at the grand concert piano and completed the performance with incredible skill.Later that man, a local piano teacher, was asked how he could play such a difficult piece of music so beautifully, with no notice or rehearsal. He explained that in 1939, when he was a budding young pianist, he was imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp. In order to maintain his will to live and play again, he practiced each night by fingering the notes of a memorized piece of music on his bed of boards. He added new pieces until, at the end of his 5 year imprisonment, he had completed an entire repertoire.
“You heard one of those pieces tonight,” he explained. “That constant practice kept my hope alive.”This year, if you are not where you want to be – or what you are, or where you work, keep imagining, keep dreaming, and more importantly keep practicing. There is a powerful line in antiquity that says “knock and it shall be opened”.
It’s a critical and insightful piece of instruction that reveals a heavenly principle. More importantly is it’s application. Said another way…be consistent in the application of the things that get results. What is your hope and dream? Are you playing your piano each day?In other words are you slowing down each day and investing time visualizing your dream, seeing you living in that reality?
Keep knocking on the door of life using your imagination to give you hope of what you truly desire, take faith filled steps of action and thank GOD each step of the way.
Soon you will be standing in the middle of your dream no matter how long it takes.
Enjoy your daily minute.
